Hello Members,

I am Bhushan, a PGDBA student in the third semester specializing in HR. Sometimes, I feel the need to stay updated with the happenings in the field of HR from various websites, journals, and newspapers. If you could suggest some sources for me to stay updated, I would greatly appreciate it. I went to some newspaper shops and asked for HRD review journal, but they said it wasn't available. If you could direct me to where I can acquire the study material you recommend, it would be of great help to me. Additionally, I would appreciate it if you could suggest a comprehensive book that is a must-have for an HR student, so I can grasp all the basics and concepts correctly.

Thank you.

Hi Bhushan,

What Atomleaf has said is true. CiteHR is one of the biggest resources that you would require. The internet is the biggest ocean to get the best information the fastest. Try some Googling techniques, and you will find all the resources you require.

You should be able to find some HR journals in your college library as these kinds of journals are not easily available through newspaper vendors. Alternatively, you can try some government libraries as they also subscribe to HR journals.

For the latest happenings in HR, visit CiteHR every day, and rest assured that you will be most up-to-date about the happenings in the HR field.

Hi All,

I am working in an IT company in Noida. I have just started payroll as a part of my profile. Can anyone help me with how to calculate the bonus component in the salary structure? Is there any set percentage or is it an adjusted figure like special allowance?

Thanks,
Deepti

Hi Shruti,

The calculation of the bonus for one year is the total of Basic+DA from April to March or April till the employee worked, multiplied by 8.33%. This is the minimum amount, and you can then divide the result by 12 to get one month's bonus. If you have any queries, please write to me at bhardwaj.ch@gmail.com.

Thank you.
