Hi Seniors,

I want to know if an employee remains on leave from Friday to Tuesday, whether the Sunday will be counted as leave or a holiday. Also, if he has two CL and two SLs to his credit and no PL to his credit, can we give him CL and SL together? Kindly clear my doubt.

Thanks,
J.S. Negi

JSNEGI,

In any type of holiday, either a weekly off or paid holidays, a prefix or suffix is a must for enjoying a weekly off or paid holiday leave. If an employee remains absent on the day before and after the weekly off/paid holiday, he has to fill out leave for the weekly off or paid holidays. One cannot take CL and SL together.

Sir,

If we call an employee on holiday to work due to the exigency of work, is it mandatory to inform him at least 24 hours in advance? Also, please send me a draft of the holiday circular to be displayed on the notice board. Additionally, kindly let me know to whom it is mandatory to send a copy of this circular.

Hi,

An employee can take leave from Friday to Tuesday. The employee has credits in Account 2 for CL & SL. Therefore, the employee can use different combinations during the leave period. Some examples of combinations are: CL, SL, Holiday, CL, SL and SL, CL, Holiday, CL, SL, etc.

Hi,

SL and CL cannot be clubbed together. In case an employee is on leave from Friday to Tuesday, it depends on the company's leave policy. Whether it is a 5-day working week or 6 days, then check whether intervening weekly offs are counted or not. Please let me know for any further queries.
