Hi, I am new in HR. Can anyone help me with meaning and difference between Attrition, Separation & turnover.......I am too confused. Please guide me. Regards,

Attrition

Attrition refers to a reduction in staff that is vacated through resignation, reassignment, transfer, retirement, or other means other than layoffs.

Separation

Any termination of employment is generally classifiable as a layoff, voluntary quit, or discharge.

Employee Turnover

Employee turnover is the ratio of the number of workers that have left in a given time period to the average number of workers.
