Hello Friends,
I have joined a new software company with 60 employees, and here I have noticed that the dissatisfaction ratio among employees is very high. What should I do to boost employee morale? Any suggestions for the employer? Please help me out.

Dear Jayanaf,
You can conduct a survey among employees in your company to identify what is lacking in your organization and what employees are expecting. This will help you understand the reasons behind employee dissatisfaction.

Also, talk with the managers and understand why the motivation levels of the employees are so low. If the attrition rate is high, understand the trigger for the employees to get demotivated.

Hi Friends,
Thank you for your valuable reply. What type of survey should I do? I am new to the company, and the environment here is such that internal interaction is very low. Nobody within the team is friendly with each other.

Dear Jayana,
New to the company, if you have concluded that the employee is unhappy due to the employer, please do not bell the cat. Seek some external agencies' help to make a report and submit it to the employer. If better sense prevails, then things may improve a bit; else, change your job in your own interest. In my experience, the bottleneck is always at the top (of the bottle). If the attitude doesn't change at the top, the solution is to choose the top rather than to change it.

Hello Jayana,

Is there poor job performance among the dissatisfied employees? Do not mistake dissatisfied employees for unproductive employees. What is the attrition rate for the dissatisfied employees? What is the company-wide turnover or attrition rate?

Suresh is absolutely right. Many times, the top management is not keen to own the problem and to solve it. In such case, the person who tries to do honest efforts ends up in trouble. - Dhananjay
Jayana,
Just a few points I want to add on this:
1. Do not just think of moving on until you have tried your best.
2. First, try to analyze whether managers are aware of the present state of mind of their employees in the organization.
3. If they know, then are they fine with this?
4. If they are not aware, are they willing to know and take some action on it?
5. Another important point: are these dissatisfied employees productive? This question was asked by someone else as well. It is very important, as no employer or manager will be ready to spend time and money on employees who are not productive.
6. If you have all these answers, then begin with the process to rectify this problem.
7. First of all, prepare a feedback form for the employees and have it filled out by them. Then, compile the data and analyze what the key components are for their dissatisfaction.
After all this, you will come to know what you need to do next. If not, we are all here to support you in getting this issue resolved, as it is a common concern for most HR professionals in organizations.
If you plan to move, you may not be sure what kind of work culture you will encounter in the next organization.
All the Best & Keep up the Good Work.

Hi Jayana,
I agree with Monica. This will give you the right direction to move on step by step. It's a very good initiative taken by you to improve the morale of the dissatisfied employees in the organization, which will actually lead to positive results.
