Dear Friends and Peers,

I worked in a company for 5 months and left with a prior notice of 15 days, as stated in my appointment letter. However, the company did not count any leaves during that time and subsequently sent me a recovery letter for 2 days' salary. According to them, I did not complete the full 15-day notice period and only worked for 13 days.

Now, I am looking to claim my PF (Provident Fund). Will they release it to me, or do I need to pay back the 2 days' salary to receive my PF? Additionally, I am no longer residing in that city. Is there a way for me to access my PF without physically visiting the office?

Moreover, the company has not provided me with a relieving letter. What steps should I take to obtain it? All my leaves were unused during my tenure at that company, resulting in a balanced leave account.

Please advise on how I can rightfully claim what is owed to me.

Hi Pradeep,

For your PF, the only way without interruption of the previous employer is to get it transferred to your new PF account number in the new organization where you need not have any authentication from the previous employer. You just need to allow your PF account number of the previous company to the new employer, and HR can facilitate the transfer.

On the other hand, to receive the PF amount directly to you, you have to get it authenticated by your previous employer.

In my advice, if your leave is not sanctioned by any means, let them deduct your two days and with mutual understanding, get your full and final settlement. This way, you can get your dues cleared.

Hi Pratap At any cost company can not adjust your pf accumulation with notice period pay.one of freind correctly said you can transfer your pf accumulation with form 13 to new organisation

1st company - 6 months > 3 years ago

2nd company - 3 months > 2 years ago

3rd company - 2 months > 1 year ago

4th company - 3 months > 6 months ago

5th company - working from 3 months

Absconded from the first four companies.

How do I get my PF? Is it possible to get it without going to the companies?

Dear Pradeep,

You worked in a company for 5 months and left with a prior notice of 15 days as per your Appointment Letter. Since you did not serve the full 6 months, if you apply for PF withdrawal, you will only receive the PF amount and not the pension amount. Therefore, you will lose the pension amount. It is advisable to transfer your PF to your new account so that you do not lose the pension amount.

Dear Piramidlitee,

It would be better if you transfer all the 4 companies' pension funds to the new organization. This way, you will not lose the pension amount, and you will not have to deal with each company individually. Please contact your HR person to collect the transfer forms (Form 13).
