Hi,

This is Gayathri, a new member of this HR community. The PPT presentation is awesome. However, the one thing I can't understand is the "Anti-Stress Kit" slide. I can't completely comprehend what that slide is about.

Please help me understand the same.

Many thanks,
Gayathri :)

Thank you very much, everyone, for the support and suggestions. The anti-stress kit is a piece of humor. Since stress management is a serious topic, I wanted to add some humor to it at the end. All those cartoons were also chosen to lighten the mood.

If you still didn't get the anti-stress kit part of it, I am here to explain.

Regards,
Dhannya

Nice work. You can also add a couple of slides on the stages of stress. Although you have a slide on how the optimal amount of stress maximizes productivity, a major part of the presentation deals with just one stress-related condition - hyperstress. Adequate importance should also be given to the other end of the extreme - hypostress. This is where the amount of stress is low, thus leading to a lack of motivation and lethargy.

Just my $0.02 :)

Hi Dhannya,

Very nice PPT. Really, this kind of stress level is something most people suffer in the workplace. Even sometimes, I also experience this level of stress. But I want to tell you one thing - I have a high stress level most of the time at work; I don't have much work to do most of the time. I spend the full day sitting without any work. Do you have any suggestions for dealing with this kind of stress? Because at our age, we should be doing something creative, gaining more experience. If we don't have any work, how can we showcase our abilities?

Thanks and regards,
Sucheta Patil

Dear Sucheta,

If you feel that you have been underutilized, you can suggest to management that another function be added to your profile that aligns with your interests and aptitude. I think this could be beneficial.

Hi Dhannya,

That was a great presentation. I liked it, especially towards the last few slides. Good pictures were used, and they are apt to the words. I enjoyed the humor part of it. Thanks once again. Keep posting such good stuff. Very useful for a person like me who is in the NGO sector.

Cheers,

Dear Dhanya Wilson,

I believe that this PowerPoint presentation is made for training purposes only, not for teaching stress management in the class. Its content, in general, is okay. However, you have left out some important aspects like 'burnout stress syndrome' (BOSS). The stress-relieving remedial kit slide should be avoided as it is used for anger relief and not for stress release. Let's avoid including such kits in PowerPoint presentations. When discussing, you can talk about mild stress relievers.

Anyway, thanks for the post; it is useful for HR practitioners.

Dear Gopan,

Thank you for the feedback. I am a psychologist and a soft skills trainer. The PowerPoint presentation is for training purposes, not for teaching students. The last slide on stress management kit is intended to facilitate a good laugh after the training program. I have not included it as a stress relief technique. Dear Deepti,

Thank you for the support.

Hi Dhannya,

That's a very good presentation on Stress Management. However, as a suggestion, you can elaborate a bit on the coping strategies and include things like water therapy, color therapy, and the effect of "touch" on reducing stress. Hope it helps.

Regards,
Ambita
