Hi Parimala,
You can choose to do your Project Assignment/Desertation project on any of your are of interest in HR.
Some topics which give a lot os scope to learn & also generates interest in the minds of recruiter (Will be very helpful during placmeents)
1) Competency Mapping
2) HR Audit
3) Psychometric Testing- Boon or a Bane to the hR fraternity
You can take an industry/ a company as the base for your project & do the research o the same.
Though these topics are common but it has lot of opporunities for you to explore.These are few topics that i had personally considered when i was doing my project work.
Please avoid doing a cut copy paste job form the internet.

I suggest T&D linked with retention will make sense. Companies stopped thinking about recruiting resources, and started planning to retain existing talent pool, this subject will surely value add to your CV.
