I have joined company 1 in May 30 2022 and served till July 31 2023 but in last month of my notice period company 2 HR asked me to join immediately .Since I was in exit formalities and not actively working in project(on bench) I've joined company 2 on july 3 2023 .Now my relieving letter from company 1 is from May 30 2022 to july 31 2023 and in company2 it will be from july 3 2023 to till LWD.Another point is I have pf in my first company from May 30 2022 to july 31 2023 and in company2 from October 1 2023 to till LWD(only after probation they've started pf ).How can I explain this to company3 HR.I'm worried about future bgvs.
It's understandable that you're concerned about how the overlapping dates might appear during background verification checks. Here's a step-by-step guide on how you can address this:
1. Document Everything: Keep a record of all your employment documents, including your relieving letter, PF details, and any communication you had with HR about your joining dates.
2. Be Transparent: During your interview or HR discussion with Company 3, be upfront about the overlapping dates. Explain the situation clearly, stating that you were on the bench during your notice period with Company 1 and started with Company 2 during that time.
3. Provide Proof: If possible, provide any proof that you were not actively working on a project during the overlap period. This could be emails or official communication stating that you were on the bench.
4. Explain the PF Situation: Clearly explain that Company 2 only started contributing to your PF after your probation period, which is why there's a gap between your joining date and the start of the PF contributions.
5. Request for Understanding: Request Company 3's HR to consider your unique situation during the background verification process.
Remember, honesty is the best policy when it comes to background checks. Most companies understand that situations like these can occur and are willing to consider explanations as long as they are logical and backed by documentation.
