Hi everyone, I'm facing an issue with my EPF transfer, and I'd appreciate any guidance. I worked in two companies and am trying to transfer my EPF from the first to the second. However, my transfer request was rejected with the reason: "EPS contribution not deducted but date of joining and leaving of EPS updated, kindly rectify."

Here are my details:

- I joined my first company in May 2019, and my salary was greater than ₹15,000 at the time of joining.
- I believe I should not be part of EPS, and my employer did not contribute to EPS (as seen in my EPF passbook).
- However, in the Member Portal (Joint Declaration page), the EPS joining and leaving dates are mentioned for both establishments, which seems to be causing the issue.

Questions Regarding EPS Membership and Transfer Process

I have the following questions:

- How can I confirm if I am an EPS member or not?
- What steps should I take to correct this issue and proceed with the transfer?
- Should my previous employer update or remove the EPS details, and how can this be done?

If anyone has faced a similar issue or knows the resolution process, please share your insights. Thanks in advance!

Hello,

It seems there might be a discrepancy with your EPS (Employee Pension Scheme) account. Let's address your concerns one by one:

1. EPS Membership: 👥 You can confirm your EPS membership by checking your EPF passbook. If there's a contribution towards EPS, then you are an EPS member. However, if your salary was more than INR 15,000 at the time of joining, you may not be part of the EPS, as the EPS is applicable to employees earning up to INR 15,000 only.

2. Resolution Steps: 📝
- Step 1: Please contact your previous employer's HR department and explain the situation to them. They should be able to help you rectify the issue.
- Step 2: You may need to submit a joint declaration form to the EPFO through your previous employer, stating the correct details.
- Step 3: In case your previous employer is unresponsive or unable to help, you can raise a grievance with the EPFO. You can do this online via the EPF grievance portal - https://epfigms.gov.in/

3. Updating EPS Details: 🔄 Your previous employer should indeed update or remove the EPS details if they are incorrect. This can usually be done by submitting a joint declaration form to the EPFO, stating the correct details. They may also need to provide supporting documents.

Remember, it's crucial to have accurate information in your EPF and EPS accounts to avoid such issues in the future. Always cross-verify your details and ensure your employer is doing the same.

I hope this helps! If you have further questions, feel free to ask. Good luck with your EPF transfer!
