Intervening Holiday and Weekly Off

What does an intervening holiday mean? Is the intervening holiday the same as the weekly off?

Clubbing Casual Leave (CL) and Earned Leave (EL) with Weekly Off

Can CL (Casual Leave) and EL (Earned Leave) be clubbed with the weekly off? For example, the weekly off in our organization is on Saturday and Sunday. So, if my employee applies for CL for Thursday and Friday, can he apply? If yes, then how will the leaves be calculated? Will his salary be deducted for Saturday and Sunday as the rule suggests no leaves can be clubbed with CL? Please suggest.

Leave Policy for Weekly Off Days

If the weekly off days are Saturday and Sunday, an employee can apply for Earned Leave (EL) or Casual Leave (CL) on Thursday and Friday or Monday and Tuesday. In this case, Saturday or Sunday will not be considered as leave days. However, if the employee takes leave on Friday and Monday, then Saturday and Sunday will be counted as leave days.
