Do MNCs do verification or authentication for an internship?

I have worked in a small firm for 5-6 months. I was just learning things, and I received an internship certificate from them. The company is real, and I genuinely worked there, but the certificate states a duration of 1 year.

Do you think it could be considered fake by BGV companies, or could I get caught?

Hi, An internship is a professional learning experience that offers meaningful, practical work related to a student's field of study or career interest. Normally, students have to undergo an internship with a certificate issued by the college.

Internship Duration and Verification

A real internship won't prolong for a very long period. In your case, 5-6 months should be considered a short employment only. If you are projecting it as one year, then this internship would definitely be subjected to a Background Verification (BGV). However, if you claim that a one-year certificate was issued by the company, during verification, they will confirm the same.
