Hi, I am Mani. Below are the concerns that I had.
Resignation and Notice Period
I resigned on 12 July 2018 and was relieved on 22 October 2018. I served a notice period of 3 months and 10 days (actual notice period - 3 months). However, on the day of relieving, my HR informed me that they could not provide me with a relieving letter and an experience letter.
Self-Declaration Agreement
When I inquired about the reason, they mentioned that I had signed a self-declaration agreement, which included a clause stating my intention to serve for 3 years. Even though I had worked there for over 2 years, they refused to issue the experience and relieving letter.
Concerns About Partiality and Internal Politics
I expressed my concerns about facing partiality and internal politics, which made it difficult for me to work under increasing pressure. Despite this, they were not understanding, so I decided to resign and complete all pending tasks before leaving my previous employment.
Misunderstandings with Management
I had received the best performer award but encountered misunderstandings with my previous company manager. Due to the pressure from work and my manager, I found it challenging to continue working there.
Discrepancy in Issuance of Letters
I referred a friend for employment in my previous company, and despite working for only 9 months, he received both the relieving and experience letters within 30 days of resignation.
Continued Efforts to Obtain Letters
Even after leaving, I reached out to my manager and HR, but they still refused to provide me with a relieving letter and experience letter. The HR did send an email confirming my relieving date as 22 October 2018.
However, I require the experience and relieving letters for my current new job.
Thanks, Mani

I am also in the same situation. Can you please tell what do they do if you are unable to provide relieving letter from previous organisation?

I absconded as I had a COVID emergency at my home. I regret absconding. I didn't know about these repercussions as I was a fresher fresh out of a bachelor's degree. I worked there for 2 weeks.
I explained this situation to my new MNC firm, and they told me not to submit any relieving letter as I explained the circumstances regarding COVID, and I didn't mention it on my CV.
I am worried whether it will create an issue while switching companies in the future. Do I need to explain this situation to my future employers when switching companies?

Hi, two weeks is a very short period, and if you left without providing any information, your past employer might have closed your file for termination. If no PF (Provident Fund) was deducted, you can consider removing that experience. However, since you have already shared the details with the new employer, try to obtain a relieving order from the past employer by paying one month's salary or an equivalent. If this is not possible, explain the situation regarding the medical emergency to the new employer. Ultimately, it is at the discretion of the new employer whether they choose to accept this explanation or not.
