Hi all, I just need help in recruiting freshers. I've seen a trend of late where many youngsters are complaining about not getting a job, but when it comes to recruiting, they are not performing well or are faking skills on their resumes. Is it just me, or is every recruiter facing the same difficulty?

Hi,

Decline in the standard of education

The primary reason for the decline in the standard of education compared to 10-15 years ago is drastic. Even students with good scores are unable to answer questions related to their subjects. This deterioration worsened further post the Covid-19 pandemic due to the shift to online classes. The decrease in the quality of education is attributed to the lack of qualified, experienced professors and lecturers. Colleges often manage with mediocre profiles who are paid lower salaries. Additionally, the excessive use of gadgets by students, such as playing games and using social networks, has resulted in adverse effects like difficulty in learning and lack of focus on studies. Despite these challenges, students who excel in their studies are recruited by top companies through campus interviews, leaving mediocre profiles for mid-sized companies.

Shift in attitude of fresh graduates

Furthermore, there has been a noticeable shift in the attitude of fresh graduates. Many aspire for decent pay with fewer work hours, avoid committing to training agreements, and aim to advance their careers rapidly by changing jobs every 1 or 2 years.

This issue is prevalent across all industries.
