I want to create company policies because it has come to our notice that employees are increasingly demanding the work-from-home facility. Management only wants to provide this option in cases of emergency or health issues.

Hi! The work-from-home concept came into existence vigorously post-COVID-19, in view of the need of the hour. However, some organizations are still continuing with it as they find it more favorable, suitable, and advantageous. Allowing work from home is a prerogative in the hands of the employer and not the employees, unless specifically expressed and defined in the offer of appointment itself. If an employee has been engaged on a full-time basis (i.e., working from the office), they have no right or claim to seek work from home. It's entirely at the discretion of the company concerned to make a decision, keeping in view the nature of work, need, and requirement.

As in some circumstances, with a view to helping those who have genuine difficulties, management has permitted employees to work from home in certain unavoidable situations. However, it has come to our notice that this has more or less become a norm, and many employees have started to work only from home. This situation has placed management in a difficult position.
Work-from-Office Requirement
Henceforth, all employees are required to do their work only from the office. The option of working from home is reserved for serious health issues only. Management is currently developing a work-from-home policy, which we will share with you at the beginning of the next year.
We hope you understand the situation and will continue to extend the support as you have always done in the past.
