Dear Respected All, I want to know if any employee becomes a parent but unfortunately his/her baby is no longer in the world, is the employee eligible for Paternity leave, Bereavement leave, or both? Please help me out.

It depends on the company. Naturally, if a company is granting paternity leave and bereavement leave, which are not mandatory leaves as per any law in force, the company should extend it even if the newborn baby is not alive. Paternity Leave The former is a leave to take care of one's wife; it shall be given since delivery has happened, and she needs care from her husband. Bereavement Leave The latter is a leave when a close relative dies; the same should be given since the employee's own baby has died. The purpose of this leave should be combined with paternity leave in this case because the wife should be given support both physically and mentally.
