We have workers in our company who are sent to clients' places for commissioning purposes. They are paid overtime when they work for extended hours at the company. Are they eligible for overtime allowance for traveling hours?

Traveling period is not considered as overtime (OT) as traveling expenses to the client's place are covered, as well as lodging, boarding, and local travel expenses by the company. Overtime is payable only for working more than 9 hours in a day or 48 hours in a week.

For OT purposes travel time is not included. For the travel period the Travelling Allowance is the compensation as one is not required to be at actual work during this period.
