Dear All, I have a doubt regarding Casual Leave adjustment. One of our staff members has been absent (on leave) on three occasions, for a total of 6 days in March 2021. However, in January 2021, we had granted 1 CL, and in February 2021, we had granted 3 CL as per the Director's instructions. Now, our Director has informed me that Mr. X has been absent (on leave) on three occasions, but never for more than 3 days at a stretch. Therefore, all of these absences are to be debited to the CL account. Is this correct? How many days should we adjust against CL? He currently has only 8 CL. Kindly advise me on this matter promptly.

Casual Leave Policy Considerations

The general practice followed in many companies is that Casual Leave (CL) cannot be availed for more than 2 days at a stretch. The minimum CL to be availed is half a day. Therefore, you can sanction him 2 days of CL as per the leave policy followed in many good companies. However, you have to make a decision regarding the leave policy in your company.
