Termination vs. Resignation
The company wants to terminate an employee, but we don't want to issue him a termination letter. Instead, we want him to give a resignation letter for his career perspective. That's why we asked him to send a formal resignation email for immediate relieving.
He has not been performing well for the last six months, as per expectations. Additionally, we included his name in the PIP program in February 2020, and we have all performance issue emails for the last two months. Is there any impact due to the present situation that may affect following the above procedure?

You may ask the concerned employee to formally tender their letter of resignation, based on which you can initiate all separation formalities as outlined in your company.
