We are trying to get a Shops and Establishment License for Karnataka. We have 4 or 5 employees at our Bangalore office. Accordingly, we applied for a license to the labor office, but they are saying that we have to take a license for those security guards who are posted at our client places. Is it true? Can somebody explain/help the undersigned on this?

As per my understanding, the Shops and Establishment License is applicable for those employees who are posted at that particular office.
