Supreme Court Ruling on Employee Resignation Rights

I was just going through an order of our Supreme Court, which I think is worth sharing with you. In Sanjay Jain Vs. National Aviation Company of India Ltd., it has been held that it is the right of an employee to resign from their job if they do not want to continue with the employment further, unless there is any stipulation rule or clause in the terms and conditions of the appointment letter or any disciplinary proceeding is pending against them.

Further, the employer cannot force the employee to work and hold their release documents. So, please read all the clauses of your appointment letter, especially the termination clause, and act accordingly.
