Hi all,
I joined a company two months ago. When I joined the company on the 4th of May '09, they issued me an offer letter. However, they have not provided me with an Appointment Letter. Due to a conflict between the Director and myself, the company terminated my employment. Now, the company is requesting my relieving letter.
Is a resignation letter mandatory without the issuance of an appointment letter? How should I proceed from here?

Arvind,
If the company wants to relieve you, you should not give the resignation as the company must be owing some money to you for a particular period which as a clause is to be given to the employee in case the company relieves at its end. If there is no such clause, it's wise to resign amicably and take your experience/relieving letter and push off.

I don't think there is any such rule or law. Still, you may try to find out. You are the best judge, but I would advise you to take your experience letter and quit as there is no point in continuing to work in a company with a hostile environment, especially since you have encountered trouble with the director.
