Hi professionals,
I want to know the eligibility of maternity leave. On the joining day of establishment, is the employer liable, or is ESIC liable for paid leave? In short, I joined my establishment on 16/1/17, and the ESIC registered date was 6/2/17. Am I eligible for paid leave under ESIC? In my case, is my company or ESIC liable for pay? Please help me.

Dear Ankita,
As per normal norms, ESIC is supposed to pay maternity benefits to employees who are covered. However, in your case, the contribution period is less than 2 years. For contributions of less than 2 years, ESIC won't provide any maternity benefits to the covered employees. Therefore, you need to claim the same from your employer.
