Good morning all, I am a new user of this blog. I have a query. I was working with a Japanese firm as an IT officer. After working for 1 year and 21 days, my HOD terminated me and withheld my full dues and salary. Firstly, I want to clarify that my offer letter clearly states that I would be on a probation period for the first 6 months. If the company is not satisfied with my job, they can extend my probation period for the next 3 months, and after that, they can terminate me. However, I was not aware that my probation period was extended three times (first 6 months, next 3 months, and the last 3 months and 21 days) before I was suddenly terminated. According to the company policy, they could have terminated me after extending my second probation period, but they did not do so.

I need your advice on whether I can pursue legal action.

Please help me.

Regards, Vimal

You were employed as "IT Office." Please clarify. Termination may be due to unsatisfactory work during the probationary period. The fact that after the initial 6 months probation period, it was extended thrice substantiates the same. However, you are entitled to legal dues. What dues are held by the company? What does the termination letter state? You should communicate in writing for the release of your dues immediately.
