Dear Seniors,i am new for CiteHR.this is my first post.please tell me what is the minimum wage for workers category and for staff category in India for present financial year.

Minimum wage rates are always according to the category of the workman, i.e., Highly Skilled, Skilled, Semi-Skilled, and Unskilled, not as you have asked. If we go by the Factories Act of 1948, everyone is a worker, whether they are Off-role (Contractual) or On-role employees.
Secondly, minimum wages are also zone-wise. You have to find out which zone your company falls under (Zone-1 or Zone-2).

If we are paying minimum wage and above according to their designation to workers/employees respectively, in this case, if a labor inspector comes to our plant and asks for the register as well as personally asks the workers whether they are receiving minimum wages or not. My question is whether they are eligible to ask or not. If they are eligible, then kindly reply with the section number in the Factories Act 1948.
