Hi All,

Query: How should an HR proceed when a new joiner mentions that he was receiving his salary in cash at his previous company and that's why he does not have a pay slip? Although, we will send a verification form to his last company.

Hi Swati,

1) If the employee is receiving their salary by hand, please ask them to provide a salary certificate.
2) Do you have a grading system for specific positions based on factors such as experience and skills? If so, you can determine the wages by assigning them to a particular grade level.

Thank you.

You can perform past employment verification of your candidates to confirm that what they are claiming about their past salary is true. In addition to the last withdrawn salary, past employment verification helps validate other employment details of a candidate, which further helps make the right hiring decisions.

Benefits of Past Employment Verification

When it comes to performing past employment verification, you can rely on an online tool called Verified Resources. Apart from the last withdrawn salary, it verifies work experience, the status of exit formalities, and whether your candidate served their notice period or not. All these details are verified by your potential employee's former employer(s), and since the verification process is automated, you get quick, accurate results to make the right hiring decisions.

Being an HR professional, I personally use Verified Resources, and it has made hiring a lot easier for me. I'm making confident hiring decisions now.

Here is the link: www.verifiedresources.com.

You can try using it to simplify and expedite the recruitment and verification process.

Thanks,

Meesha

Plan of Action for New Joiner Verification

How have you asked him to join before clearing up all the searches regarding pay package scrutiny, checking with his last employer, etc.? Don't you think that now, since he has already joined the organization, things are a little bit difficult? You must have given him an appointment letter. Now, suppose the search with his previous employer reveals something different from what he claims; what will be your plan of action?

Anyway, now that he has already joined, ask his Department Head to keep a closer watch on him for some time as a precaution. And in the future, strictly observe recruitment steps.

Arun Dixit
