I am working in a Japanese company and I wanted to know if we can run the factory during national holidays. If so, please let me know the procedure for getting approval from the concerned department. Are there any violations if we run the factory without approval? Please suggest.

Holiday Regulations for Industrial Establishments
Holidays are regulated by the State's Industrial Establishments (National and Festival) Holidays Act. Therefore, there can be different provisions regarding the employment of workmen on a declared holiday. In general, all states seem to have a consensus regarding such engagement on a holiday, provided that a notice is served to the employees with a copy to the Inspector (Assistant Labour Officer/Labour Officer or such other officer who is the controlling authority under the Act, of the area) at least 24 hours before such engagement. This is a declaration that the persons employed on a holiday will be given wages at double the average rate of wages and a compensatory holiday.
