By mistake, two UAN numbers were generated. One UAN number was created by me and is linked to a PF number with employer A. Another one was generated by employer B and is linked to another PF account.

I have already raised this issue with my current organization, and they have advised me to ignore the first UAN number and continue using the second UAN. However, I have withdrawn the PF amount from my first PF number.

Please advise on what steps to take in this situation.

Since you have already withdrawn the amount from the first PF number, I would suggest considering the matter closed. If you had not withdrawn, then you could have transferred or shown continuity in PF contribution by submitting a letter to EPFO, informing them of the 1st and 2nd UAN numbers/PF numbers, and requesting them to transfer service contribution details to the new UAN number.

Benefits of Transferring PF

PF allows partial withdrawal and higher pension rates for a person with a longer PF contribution. Hence, it is always advisable, and now even made mandatory by EPFO, to transfer PF from the old company to the new company. Kindly consider this in the future.
