Sir, please intimate whether the said employee has been engaged under "Apprentices Act, 1961" through the authority established under said Act ?

Dear Mahesh,

The internship is meant for the students who need to gain knowledge in the concerned industry. Hence, normally they will not be provided any salary, stipend, or any monetary benefit. In fact, those interested should obtain a letter from their college and join as internship trainees. Since there is no payment, PF and ESI cannot be implemented.
