Please also update me regarding the decision the government has taken. I read the news that the government has made some decisions yesterday to amend labor laws but do not know all the details. I have been searching on Google since morning to find out more about the decision.

Dear Rao/Kalijanni, I hope there is a difference between an amendment and a rule. An amendment is a proposal. Until the government takes it over, it is not required to follow or implement. Could you please comment on the applicability of an amendment?

Thank you.

Dear HR Fraternity,

The query in this thread asked for notification on amendments in labor laws. So far, there have been more than 245 viewers and 5 replies to the query, but there has not been a single attempt to provide a specific answer.

I am very sorry to say it, but I am compelled to express my disappointment. This is the forum of the HR Fraternity. The HR Fraternity is supposed to be experts/all-rounders. However, after reading such a thread, I feel ashamed. I am again sorry to say it.

Though it is an open forum, it should not mean that any member is free to reply without applying their mind. Rather, I would suggest that if I don't know the correct answer, I should keep quiet.

The site administrators should take note of my concerns. Why are experts in the Fraternity not participating in the forum?

I am aware that the members may not like this post.

Correct and Specific Answer to the Query

The cabinet only cleared the proposals. The proposals will be presented before both houses, and then the President of India will give assent to them. Amended laws will be made applicable only upon Gazetted Notification.

I beg pardon for this post.

  • Most of the members in this forum are asking about the amendment and are getting panicked, questioning when it has to be implemented in their organization. So far, it has been clearly described what the amendment is, what the rule is, and when it has to be implemented in an organization. It is important to understand what was mentioned without giving unnecessary comments. I am aware of all the boundaries that exist for the Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, and precedent. Thank you for your comments, even though they may receive 1000 dislikes.

    Thank you.
