Dear Seniors,

I need urgent help from all of you. I want to know why, during the joining formalities of an employee, we consider the name mentioned on his X mark sheet as a valid proof of name for our official records in India. Why don't we consider the name mentioned on his voter ID card or ration card as the valid proof of his name for our official records? Is there any law/legal reasons behind this logic?

Please advise.

Actually, the names mentioned in his certificates are more important and correct because, in the Voter ID, they are mostly misspelled or printed incorrectly. However, for his 10th Class certificate, all forms have been filled and submitted, so there is a lesser chance of errors. Moreover, it is widely accepted and recognized by our system.

Class X SSLC Certificate: An Authentic Document

Class X SSLC is the first certificate issued at the end of secondary schooling by the education board of each state government. When a student takes the Class X exam, the school authorities also authenticate the date of birth with the birth certificate and forward the application directly to the education board. Therefore, it is considered an authentic document for the date of birth.
