Dear All,
I am Krishna Prakash, and I have over 2 years of experience in HR. I recently attended some interviews last week, during which I was asked, "Why did you choose HR?" Unfortunately, I found it difficult to answer this question. Could you please provide me with some good answers for this situation?
Cheers,
Prakash

Hi Prakash,
In fact, even I am looking for the satisfactory answer. Though I am trying to answer, I think you would have said that you like to deal with people or you like to serve the internal customers of a company, understand their behavior, and motivate them to achieve the goals. That's why.

Hi, Nidhi and Krishna,
Basically, HR is related to managing human resources. It requires some qualities like handling people efficiently and effectively, leading people, motivating others, solving their work/emotional/etc. problems, maintaining relationships with management, trade unions, and labor, good communication skills, controlling/measuring people's activities, initiative, creativity, etc.
I know not everyone possesses such qualities. Even I don't have all of them, but we have to find them within ourselves and develop them. I haven't told you to invent them; search within yourself. For this, you can do a SWOT analysis - strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Discover and develop them. If you can't figure it out, ask your good/best friends to tell you about your strengths and weaknesses.
I hope I have cleared your doubts. After this analysis, you can answer your own questions. Thank you.
