I have resigned from my previous company (HTMT Global Solutions, Durgapur) on 31.05.2008 without serving the notice period due to some personal problems. The PF office is located in Bangalore, and I am currently residing in Durgapur. I want to withdraw my PF and pension amount now, and I am currently working in another organization. Please tell me where I should submit my Form 19 and 10C for this purpose. Which documents need to be submitted with these two forms?

Fill out the employee details, including the PF account number, etc. Fill in the wage details, which you will find in Form 3A. Obtain the employee's signature and also a signature on a 1 Re Revenue Stamp. Have it signed by your authorized signatory of the company. Submit it after 2 months from the date of the said employee's resignation. Fill out these forms and give them to the previous employer; they will process further.

Thank you.

You have not mentioned the tenure of your services with your previous employer. How many years have you served? It is not advisable to withdraw your Provident Fund. If you still want to withdraw, you can apply using Form No.19 (Provident Fund) and Form No.10C (in case of less than 5 years of service), otherwise use Form 10D.

If your service is more than 5 years, your pension account will not be settled, but they will issue the Scheme Certificate in lieu of settlement, which you are entitled to claim for pension only after attaining the age of 58 years. The decision is yours.

As a consultant, I advise you to get it transferred to your present company so that your pensionable service will be accounted for in due course of your retirement.

It is better to transfer the amount from the previous PF account to the current PF account using Form 13. The transfer form does not require the signature or attestation by the previous employer; the current employer can handle it.

Withdrawal and Transfer of PF

For withdrawal, you have to submit all relevant forms to the PF Office where you were a member (Bangalore in your case). In case of a transfer, you can submit the relevant forms from your current location, i.e., Durgapur, or you can also apply online.
