I was working for a software company that has a 3-month notice period. As I got a new government job which I needed to join immediately, I absconded from the company and joined the new one without informing my previous employer. I had served 15 months out of the 2 years of the bond period. I have joined the new organization successfully.

My Query

1. Is it possible to open a new PF account with the new employer without informing the old one?
2. Will it create any problems/issues in the new organization while opening a PF account? They have asked for a copy of a PAN card.

What should I do to avoid any problems? I do not care about my PF amount with the previous employer.

Regarding your queries:

1. You will get your new PF number with your new employer. You can transfer your old PF amount into the new account, and you do not require your previous employer's signature, etc. Just fill out Form 13 of PF to transfer your old account to the new one and submit it after attestation by your present employer.

2. There is no problem opening a new account with a new employer.

Furthermore, it is a suggestion to submit your resignation to your previous employer and settle the issue amicably.
