Understanding Ex Gratia Component in CTC and its Relation to Bonus Act - CiteHR

I have an Ex gratia component as part of my CTC. I joined this organization on 6th August 2013. The company has a cycle for Ex-gratia calculation from September to August. Last year, they informed me that I had not worked for 30 days in the company, so I was not entitled to it.

This year, they are paying me Ex gratia only for the period from Sep '12 to Aug '13, and not for Aug '12. According to them, I had not completed 30 days during their calculation cycle, so I am not entitled to receive that money.

Query on Ex Gratia Calculation Cycle

My query is, "Is the September to August cycle mentioned in the law?" For Ex gratia, they are referring to the Bonus law; is that the same?

It is a part of CTC, and regarding their cycle, they did not mention it earlier. Please clarify the same.

it is not clear from ur query whether you are covered under Bonus Act or not. Pls specify your Basic+DA p.m
