Effective Strategies for Demonstrating Proactive Approach in HR Roles - CiteHR

I am an HR Executive working in the animation industry. My work primarily involves recruitment and HR activities, excluding statutory compliance. However, my Managing Director expects me to be proactive at all times. I would appreciate any advice on how to demonstrate a proactive approach in HR.

The issue arises when I fail to meet his expectations, as he quickly concludes that I am not suitable for the HR role. I would be grateful for any guidance on how to address this situation effectively.

Thank you.

Dear Aishwariya, you have written about what your MD says you need to be, but then you also need to tell us on what occasions he told you to be proactive. Being proactive means anticipating the adverse impact of something and taking corrective action. Your planning skills, organizing skills, records management, etc., will help you to stay organized. "A stitch in time saves nine" goes the famous adage. The second important proverb is "Dig the well before you are thirsty." Both these proverbs teach us the importance of being proactive.

A reactive person, on the other hand, forever responds after the event or situation comes to a dire pass. He or she is fighting forever. Therefore, unless we know what challenges you face, it is difficult to give comments.

Thanks,
