Thanks a lot for very useful presentation. The amount of information I think could be eye-opener for any Goverment where they can produce the Energy. With regards

I am seeing your postings a year after you have posted them. They are very informative and indicate novel ways of harnessing energy. Perhaps readers may be interested to know (as recognized by various State Governments as well as at the National level) there are other types of energy more popular and in vogue in India. These include Biomass Regeneration, Wind, and of course, Solar energy. There are many installations all over India. With technological development, we hope the likes of Solar Energy will come to the rescue to meet the ever-growing energy demands all over the world.

Solar Energy in India
Solar energy tapping is very popular in India. Earlier, the cost per MW installation was around 14 Cr, but now it has come down to 7.7 - 8 Cr per MW. The cost per kWh is also down to Rs. 6/-. However, solar projects are land-intensive.

Nice to see your post after a long time. Yes, solar does require land for locating heating surfaces. However, as rightly pointed out by you, there is a continuous endeavor to bring the cost down. Perhaps you may be aware that the biggest solar power project has been commissioned in Gujarat over the length of a canal. Land is saved, and water evaporation losses are minimized.
Energy Requirements: Solar Heating and Solar Power
If the energy requirements are split into SOLAR HEATING and SOLAR POWER, then more applications can be found. SOLAR HEATING for small local requirements is proven. Small modules of rooftop solar panels providing power to houses (below the roof) are becoming popular in the Far East. These models will save on distribution and transmission equipment to a large extent.
