Dear all,

First of all, I would like to thank you all for providing an extraordinary platform for all HR people where we can share our concerns and receive feedback. I have been associated with citeHR since 2007, and it has greatly supported me in shaping my career.

I have a question that arises out of curiosity. Currently, I am a contributing member, while some of our friends here are followers, some are moderators, and some are super moderators. I am interested in understanding how the determination is made or what process is followed to assign members to specific categories.

Thank you in advance.

[QUOTE=nipuna;2095046]Hi Anil, thanks for the response. I was not aware of the CHR. Also, can you share his PM with me so that at least I can get my answer? Thanks in advance....

I have forwarded your query and concern to him for now. As you are one of the oldest members of CiteHR, I believe you must be familiar with CHR and the rules and regulations of Cite.Co, or how to reach a member via PM.

Well, with the closing of this, I would like to know something more from you and request you to answer the following:
a) As you are an old member of CiteHR, would you like to share with us your experience with CiteHR?
b) How about your engagement and contribution to CiteHR?
c) Have you ever tried to know the rules and regulations of CiteHR?
d) How many times have you communicated with moderators and other senior members of CiteHR?
e) How many times have you indulged yourself with discussions/threads at CiteHR?
f) Are you intending to be a Moderator? Lastly,
g) How often do you use CiteHR and for what?

Dear Nipuna,

Just left-click on the names of moderators, etc., and click on "View public profile"; you will get an idea of the number of posts they have done, etc. That shows how active they have been at CiteHR/year of their existence at CiteHR. I can send you a private message by left-clicking on your ID in your posts and selecting "Send private message." I hope you can also do it by clicking on my ID. Kindly try it out.

Hi Nipuna,

Thanks for reaching out, and thank you, Anil, for bringing this to my attention. You are right in bringing this topic up - we actually don't have a process to select moderators or senior members. Members are made moderators or are marked senior as and when we discover them - we definitely need to create a process to identify the seniors and enthusiasts. We will put this in our development queue. You can find some of the details in the posts linked in my signature.

Sid

Dear Mahavir,

Please read all the posts in this thread. Already, Mr. Anil and Mr. Roy have given enough replies for this thread. You should also go through all the posts and the link provided in the signature of CHR so that you can understand the rules and regulations, etc.

If you need any assistance, do not hesitate to ask. You can send a Private Message to any of us at any time, and rest assured, you will receive a reply.

Thank you.

Hi Anil,

Sorry for the delayed response.

I would come straight to the questions -

a) As far as my experience is concerned, I got a lot of support from this site. When I joined (5 years back), I was a fresher, and this has helped me a lot in building my career.

The only thing that I noticed is that this site is good for freshers, but the issues that we usually face once we move up the ladder are not answered here. I would be glad to have a site/area where we can discuss the issues we face on complicated HR matters.

b) In the earlier days, I needed a lot of handholding that CiteHR provided me. Now I try to shed light on newcomers.

c) Yes, I have read the links.

d) Not very frequently. There were very few questions that I have directly raised to moderators. However, in some situations, moderators directly answered my questions.

e) I try to visit at least once a day.

f) Of course, if there is any process, I would like to follow and apply for it.

g) In the earlier days, I had lots of queries, but now I try to solve them for others.

Dear Nipuna,

In response to your original query, here are my two cents, and I hope all seniors and moderators agree with this.

1. It is not the tenure that determines your profile status but your involvement in this forum.

2. If you check the posts of all seniors/moderators, you can easily understand what I am referring to. It's not just about visiting here but also about resolving members' queries and helping/guiding them in a proper way.

3. Also, your professional experience and qualifications matter because learned/experienced professionals can guide/help others.

So, if you want to become a moderator, kindly follow the below link and proceed accordingly: <link no longer exists - removed>

Hi Nipuna,

You are right when you say that the site has a lot of material for starters/freshers but not enough for the more experienced ones. We are trying to correct that and need the help of our senior members.

We first need to identify the main areas where senior leaders in HR have issues. Unfortunately, once professionals hit a certain experience level, they no longer feel comfortable posting questions on a public forum. It must have something to do with how they "need to be seen" as a problem solver at that level. But I would request the seniors to create pseudo accounts or post the queries anonymously. The material for discussion can only exist once we have the questions.

We are trying to build a way to identify the career growth of the users so that we can fine-tune the digest and the material being forwarded to them. We will also try to affiliate with other networks and create symbiotic relationships to create more value for the whole professional group.

Regarding the "Senior Member" tag - Pravin is correct; when we identify someone who seems to be senior, we mark them. We definitely need to create a process for this and will be doing so over the next few months.

Regards,

Sid
