I am in a bond agreement with the company. Now, I have received an offer from another company which is very good, and I want to accept the offer. I am prepared to pay the bond amount and serve a two-month notice period. However, my current company is not accepting my resignation. Please guide me on what I should do in this situation.

You have to either pay the bond amount or serve a two-month notice period. Don't do both things 

Handling Resignation

The company CANNOT reject your resignation letter. Send the official resignation email, keeping all the concerned people in CC (HR, Reporting Manager, HOD, and HR helpline email). Your notice period will start from the day you send the email.

Legal Aspects of Bond Agreements

Remember, bonded labor is a crime in India. Bonds are illegal. I am sure your contract has used the term "Service Agreement."

Steps to Resign from a Bond Agreement

Give it in writing. Submit a resignation letter stating the following:

1. Give two months' notice period and state that you may be relieved with effect from the specified date (after two months) as per the terms and conditions.

2. State in writing that you are prepared to pay the agreed amount immediately as per the service agreement.

Just relax. Follow up with the company after 15 days. If there is no response, send a letter after 15 days. Keep sending reminders once a week.

On the 45th day, send a letter stating that since there has been no response from the management, you are presuming that you will be relieved on the mentioned date.

Don't accept new assignments. Complete all current assignments and ensure they are documented.

No management can compel a person to stay. If you relax, your manager will be in tension. JUST RELAX, THEY WILL ACCEPT.
