We have hired 10 nos candidates from Polytechnic under the Apprentice act, now please tell me whether we should pay PF, ESI. If no , how are there medical being covered.

Apprentice wont cover under pf act.hence no need to pay provident fund.either medical facility provided by company or ESI coverage must. else in the case of accident your company will be in soup.

Apprentices under the Apprentices Act 1961 are excluded from the ESI and EPF Acts. Apprentices under the standing orders of the company are excluded from the EPF Act only, but they come under ESI. Since the EC Act is applicable to apprentices, it is advisable to cover them under a Personal Accident Insurance policy.
