I have submitted my resignation, which has been accepted with the effective date to serve a notice period of 1 month. Failure to do so will attract Notice Period Recovery. I have served 8 days, and for the shortfall of 22 days, I have agreed to pay the notice period.

Even after continuously requesting an early release date and expressing my willingness to buy out the notice period, I am not being granted an earlier date. I have been informed that my last working date will be 1 month after the resignation date, and it is up to me to choose the last date, but it will not change from their end.

I wonder if a potential new employer would still be willing to onboard me even if my release date is 20 days after the onboarding date. I am clear that I am ready to start the new job even if my release date is not accelerated.

What could be the possible consequences of receiving the relieving letter just one day before the completion of the notice period?

All I can say is that the next employer is prepared to onboard me, but I am perplexed as to why my last working date with my previous employer has not been adjusted despite numerous requests and a valid personal reason.

Notice Period and Experience Letter: Important Considerations

If you are serving a notice period of 1 month, complete it; if not, please read below:

• The company has the authority to deny an early release.

• If you leave the company without completing the notice period, the company might deduct the salary in the full and final settlements.

• The company will not provide you with an experience letter.

• Although another company might be willing to hire you without an experience letter, please don't do that because an experience letter will always be helpful whenever you change jobs. I would suggest you stay back, complete your one-month notice period, and convince the new organization to hold on until the notice days are complete. If this is done, you will receive a proper exit from the current company with an experience letter and calculated salary.

Feel free to stay in touch here :)

I have experienced the same thing before. Follow the proper path and convince your new company to wait until you complete your notice period.
