Starting Your Day as an HR Manager
1) Start the day by greeting your staff.
2) Know your staff by name, even if they are a sweeper. A personal touch is the basis for HR functions.
3) Browse your emails. Segregate them into urgent and important categories. Attend to the urgent ones first.
4) Go through your calendar and check if any statutory compliances need to be met on that day or if any meetings are scheduled. Make calendaring dates a habit.
5) Solve grievances promptly; if not, they may escalate into potential disputes later.
These are a few basic functions to start your work.

I am not wishing to be rude or provocative here, but I appear to be missing something in this post. How did you get a job as an HR Manager if you do not know how to be an HR Manager? There are many postings here on CiteHR about people who get jobs and then come to the site to find out how to do their jobs! This makes no sense to me.
The recruitment processes followed by Indian companies seem to be totally different from those followed by other countries. For example, here in Australia, we recruit, interview, and employ based on the candidate's skills, experience, and capability to do the job. As a Manager, you are going to have to exert some authority over staff members. If you do not have the skills and knowledge, some staff members may look for opportunities to take advantage of your weaknesses. I wish you well in your new post.

Congratulations on your new job! Be positive and confident. You have capabilities; that's why you were selected, so keep faith in yourself.
I kindly request seniors not to demotivate anyone asking for suggestions; they are only seeking advice, nothing more.
Kind Attention: Mr. John from Australia
Mr. Taimour is not an Indian person; he is from Pakistan (Lahore). So, please ensure you are correct before making any assumptions.

Maybe the intention of Taimour is to understand the different practices that HR managers are following in various organizations. Instead of conforming to stereotypes, he may want to approach things differently.

You have joined as a Manager-HR. Note your J.D. Then, you should read the Standing Order, if there are any, and the Labor/H.S.E. policy.
Management Commitment and Responsiveness
How is the management commitment and responsiveness, labor-industrial relation, and suggestion feedback mechanism there? You need to check out previous legal/statutory compliance documents. Also, please motivate your team. Your team will do a lot of work. Always strive to create a safe environment.

Sorry for the delay. Please find the attachment of the proposed HR System.
Important Consideration: Freezing the Organization Structure
One main point is missing, which is freezing the organization structure before starting all functions. This will help you in manpower planning. Give grades to all levels, freeze responsibilities, salary packages, etc. It will also assist you in recruitment. This is my personal observation in my current company, and I am working on the same thing. If you have something related to that, please share, as it may be helpful to me as well.
Thanks

Ensuring Compliance and Setting Up HR Processes
Please find out whether all the things like PT, ESI, PF, etc., are in place and whether your company is paying those returns on time. Make an HR manual, travel manual, etc. Have a list of employees and create a database if not already done, along with all their details. Meanwhile, study the whole company and take notes.
Analyzing Attrition and Workforce Requirements
Check out the attrition rate and create a list of the manpower required and its sources for acquisition. All of this depends on the number of employees, the size of your organization, and the industry. Don't forget to check if the employees' salaries comply with the minimum wages act; if someone's salary is less, regularize it. If you require more help, feel free to call me.
