Query on ESIC Half-Yearly Return Submission
We started paying monthly contributions from our branch office (online) from June 2012. All contributions prior to this were paid online but from our head office ESIC login ID in Pune.
My query is how do I submit the half-yearly return from April to September 2012? I know that I will have to submit the return to the ESIC Office since I have not paid monthly contributions for the months of April and May from the branch office ESIC ID. But should I show contributions made in the months of April and May since I have not made these payments here; they were made in the head office?

Dear Trupti ji,
What I understood is that from June 2012 onwards, you have started making ESI compliance under the sub-code allotted to your branch office in Bangalore. Prior to June 2012, the compliance was made from your main code allotted to your HO in Pune. You do not need to submit a half-yearly return since you have completed online compliance.

Yes, you have to submit the ESIC half-yearly return for the period April to September 2012 because your ESIC contribution started from June 2012 onwards. You need to contribute for June, July, August, and September 2012—a total of four months.
Another thing to note is that ESIC half-yearly submissions are not required due to the online system.
If you have any other queries, please call me at the number below.

Dear Seniors, Thank you for your valuable response. However, I feel my RC will not be created online as I have not submitted the monthly challan for the months of April and May from the branch office login ID. Instead, my head office has submitted it from their ID.
Thanks and regards, Trupti

When I click "View RC," it shows: "You have not filed contributions for Apr-2012, May-2012, Aug-2012, Sep-2012. RC cannot be generated." After I file contributions for Aug and Sep, it will show: "You have not filed contributions for Apr-2012, May-2012; hence, RC cannot be generated."
