We have a company in Gujarat, and we are planning to change our security service provider. For the same, we have collected quotations from the service providers. One of the finalized contractors has told us that we should pay him minimum wages as per the wages payable for the Pharma industry, as we are covered under the Pharmaceuticals Industry. However, in Gujarat, we have separate minimum wages for Private Security Guards. So the confusion is whether we should follow the rates of Private Security Guards or the Pharmaceutical Industry as we don't want any problems related to Statutory Compliance.
Please advise on the matter.

With reference to the above, if you belong to the Principal side and want to engage any contractor, whether it is security or any other service provider, it is a rule to follow the principal employer's advice. So, as per the same, security can give a minimum wage as payable under the Pharma Industry.
