Homemaker? Nay, CEO of Family Inc.
<image no longer exists>
Our modern era has established new management mantras like multiple intelligence and multitasking activities in the corporate world.
The multiple intelligence coupled with multitasking activities is effectively done by many of our Indian homemakers. However, it is often ignored by administrators and even family members. It is doubtful whether the productivity of our homemakers is reflected in our National GDP.
Let's take a moment to appreciate the amazing activities of our homemakers in daily life. Whether educated or not, our homemakers execute their daily activities like professionals and consistently demonstrate their multi-professional skills.
Most homemakers play multiple roles such as:
- As a Chemist, they check the viscosity of sambar, the solubility of chutney, and the permeability of coffee, all at the same time in the kitchen.
- As a Surgeon, they perfectly identify all the groceries from the stacked multi-sized cans and bottles when the gas stove is 'on-line' and cook delicious food using the right kitchen aids.
- As a Physicist, they test the milk without a lactometer and distribute it to all family members, including pets, according to the required specific gravity.
- As a Quality Control Manager, they gauge with perfection and accuracy that are eligible for ISO certification while dealing with vegetable vendors.
- As a Financial Manager, they happily manage to run the home with a fiscal deficit by the end of the third week of each month.
- As a Teacher, they take care of the children at home, meticulously reminding them of their homework, and act as a perfect guide during their examinations.
- As a Receptionist, they handle telephone calls at home and keep a smiling face for all guests and visitors.
The list is endless, and multitasking is not an easy job. One must agree that the multitasking skills performed by our Indian homemakers go beyond what is taught in business schools across the country. Performance with consistency is key and cannot be matched even with the well-known world standard Six Sigma.
We live in an era of new and re-designations, where department heads are transformed into directors, managers rechristened as VPs and CEOs, etc. It is surprising that with all these proficient skills, working hours from 6 AM till 11 PM, and being on call 24 hours a day, an Indian housewife is still elevated as just a homemaker.
Above all, homemakers execute every activity with emotional abundance at no cost. Is it justified? Does the Indian homemaker deserve more?
Yes! As a tribute, let us promote our homemakers to CEO of our family and pay her a 'CTC' of our unconditional love and attention at all times.
After all, they are beyond compare!

Fantastic! A homemaker is viewed from a different and desirable angle. Yes, when we do a homemaker's job, only then do we realize how difficult it is and how deftly they handle it. It is truly a tribute to all homemakers, without whom we, the professionals, cannot function efficiently at our workplace. Thank you, AVS ji, for this excellent contribution.

The Importance of Homemakers
This post certifies how important homemakers are and the significant role they play in everyone's life. It is necessary to address the doubts some people have regarding homemakers, suggesting they don't have much work of great importance. In reality, they are the sculptors of children, the backbone of their better halves, and always helpful to in-laws in all situations.
Thanks, AVS Sir, for re-posting this message. :)
