All the best for your future career in HR. The basic qualification to start a career in HR is an MBA in HR. Since you are currently working, you can pursue a distance learning program in Human Resources from reputable universities.
Understanding HR Concepts
To enter the HR field, you need to have a good understanding of the concepts and responsibilities of HR. There are many magazines where HR professionals from different companies share their views. You may face challenges in the beginning, but with time and experience, you will progress in your career. Eventually, you may become a manager in an automobile company.
Best of luck in your HR journey!

Seeking HR Opportunities
Very good morning. I have one year of experience in the field of HR. I was in an off-role position in a well-reputed company, and now my contract is coming to an end. I am looking for opportunities. Could you please suggest where there are openings for HR professionals with one year of experience? I am eagerly awaiting your valuable response.
Regards,
Simon.

Dear Smilesat,
Welcome to the HR Fraternity. It seems you are passionate about HR since you completed a Diploma in HR. You might have some knowledge of HR functions but not fully.
Steps to Become an HR Professional
If you are interested in Generalist/IR and core HR activities, you need to have a minimum qualification of an MBA/MSW. Firstly, join a company as an HR Assistant where you can start learning for 1-2 years and then apply for distance education - MBA/MSW. Gradually, you will find your destination.
If you have any other queries related to this, please reply to this post immediately.
All the very best for your future!

Hi Ramkishore sir, good evening. First, I want to thank you for your valuable advice. You mentioned that I know the HR functions, but not fully. I will join an MBA (HR) program as soon as possible.
I have another question. You mentioned that I will be joining an HR Assistant position. Will it be in our company or another company? It's not possible for me to take up this role in our company. Please suggest to me.
I am eagerly waiting for your reply.
Thank you.

First of all, I wish you all the very best in selecting the HR role as a career option. The best way for you to enter this field is to start your MBA through a distance education program from a reputable university. The MBA you pursue will add academic weight to your profile based on the theoretical knowledge you may gain.
To enhance your learning experience, consider enrolling in training institutes that offer practical knowledge in HR. You can simultaneously think about joining a training program to correlate theoretical knowledge with practical skills. To do this, you will need to find a good institute in your area. This initiative will help you maximize the value of your profile.
Please let me know if you find this suggestion helpful.

Hi Smilesat,
If there is no opportunity to work as an HR Assistant in your current company even after your request to your HOD, you should consider seeking a similar position elsewhere as you are very passionate about HR. As Rashmi suggested, if you are keen on gaining more exposure in HR, you can consider enrolling in practical HR training at HR house or another reputable institute. I wish you all the best in your career.

All the best for your career, and like the advice given by fellow members, you can go ahead with them. Just to add on, Personnel and HR in India are treated as equivalent. You need to find your passion for what exactly you want to do. I would suggest a full-time course rather than a part-time or distance learning. Firstly, from a full-time course, you would be exposed to in-depth knowledge and applications. Secondly, the possibility of a PPO or Campus placement.
If you want to gain work experience while studying, then I would suggest starting with a mediocre company so that you can learn various aspects of HR and not just personnel. There you would have creativity and freedom to pilot your ideas. Moreover, excel in what you are passionate about.

Hello everyone! I completed my MBA in HR/Marketing and am interested in working in HR. However, I ended up joining as a Customer Support Executive in a company because the HR roles I was offered were paying less, and I needed to support my family. Will this experience help me in the future if I decide to shift to an HR position?
Thank you,

If you have completed an MBA in HR, you should have experience in HR-related activities. Therefore, you need to understand the responsibilities and roles associated with it. It would be beneficial for you to work as a trainee in any organization. After gaining sufficient knowledge and experience, you can apply for higher-level positions in HR.

Hi Smriti, If I want to start my career in the HR field, what would be the most preferable requirements these days? I have given interviews at IT Park in Chandigarh but couldn't be selected. What should I say if they ask, "How much salary do you expect?" As a fresher, can you suggest what I should say? Please send me some good material regarding interview questions that an HR specialist must know in this field. It would be a great help from your side. Moreover, I have decided to do HR training from some consultants. Can you tell me the basic requirements that would be helpful? Just let me know some good consultants in HR too.
