Notes on Provident Fund ECR Uploading
This Excel file contains a macro that creates a text file used for uploading the Provident Fund ECR. Enable macros and enter data in the sheet called 'FINAL'. Be aware of the data validation rules mentioned in the 'ref2' sheets. I have incorporated some of them into the Excel sheet itself. Run the macro 'createtextfile' from this ('FINAL') sheet. You will be prompted for a name for the text file to be generated. Save the text file in a location suitable for upload.

Hi all, this month, we generated the PF challans through the E-tool and sent them to the bank. The bank personnel mentioned that they need the TRRN number compulsorily. Where can we obtain that number? Also, is it mandatory to upload the data in E-sewa for the generation of challans? Kindly revert to me!

I followed your guidelines and was able to upload the ECR successfully. Only one error occurred. At the Bangalore SBI Main branch, where we used to remit PF challans, they are insisting on ECR and are not accepting manual challans.

How do I enter the exit data of the members for the previous month, i.e., for the members who left during March in the wage month of April 2012, since we could not upload the exit details in the wage month of March? As per e-SEWA, the exit data should be uploaded only for the wage month. I would be grateful if seniors could clarify the above.

I have a problem with the ECR Excel file. Actually, I want to add arrears in the ECR format. There are four columns for arrears: arrear wages, arrear EPF EE share, arrear EPF ER share, and arrear EPS. If an employee's arrears for the month of April in basic is 533, how can I segregate it into the four columns? Please help me.

I am facing an issue. I need to upload the exit details of an employee who passed away in June 2012. We have already submitted returns for June 2012. However, the ECR upload will not display the name of the deceased employee in July 2012. Can anyone assist me with how to upload the exit details of members online?

Nope, it didn't work out. I even talked with the PF guys, and they looked puzzled. According to their software policy, you can only upload exit details of an employee who left in the wage month for which the challan is being deposited. The way out given by the PF guys was that we don't need to mention the exit details now, and we will include the exit details in Form 10 when the family member of the employee fills out the form for the PF amount payout.
