Hi Seniors, two to three days ago, I had a discussion with management. During that discussion, I mentioned that one of our employees is getting married next month, and therefore, our company should give him a gift. We need to establish a standard policy for this to ensure consistency in the future. The management accepted the proposal and requested me to prepare a formal proposal for their review and decision-making. Can anybody help me in drafting this proposal?

Thanks & Regards,

You can offer a monetary gift, for example, one month's salary, one basic salary, or a percentage of the salary. Additionally, you can categorize the gifts based on designation.

Furthermore, you can consider preparing gift vouchers, especially if you work in the retail or service industry. You may also explore partnerships with retail businesses; for instance, Big Bazaar offers such vouchers.

You can go with the following ideas:

Birthday:

- Birthday cards (internally designed and printed standard version) bought in bulk for a lower cost. These can be given to employees on their birthday, signed by all team members, the manager, and HR.
- Cards can be given during a team gathering along with a birthday song.
- "Birthday Baby Day": Every month on the 30th/31st, have all the birthday celebrants for the month assembled for a common cake cutting and a fun activity.

Marriage:

- Gift vouchers can be given.
- Gift cards from banks.
- If you are giving gifts only to employees who marry after joining your organization, you can give higher-value gifts (ranging from 2.5k to 5k) based on your company's cash flow and budget.
- It is advisable to greet all employees on their wedding day with a bouquet sent to their house, which will make them feel special.

Please let me know if you have any other queries. I hope the above ideas are useful.

- 3-5 years of service: Gift vouchers worth Rs. xxxx
- 5-10 years of service: Gift vouchers worth Rs. xxxx

Based on this framework, plan and proceed with the policy development.
