Hi, Guys,

I have changed my job and would like to withdraw my PF amount. Can anybody tell me the working hours of the PF office, the procedure/process I need to undergo, and the lead time from the time I apply to when I can get the amount? By the way, I am in Bangalore, and my previous company is also in Bangalore.

Harish

Hi Harish, good morning.

Well, I am not completely aware of the process, but it starts with filling out Form 19 and Form 10C for withdrawal. Then, it takes a minimum of 3 months for the money to be transferred to your account.

Hi Harish,

Before you withdraw your PF amount, I would like to know how long you were with your previous employer because if your PF has been paid for not less than 5 years, then you are eligible for a lot of facilities. For more info, check the attachment.

Hi Harish,

If you are really in need of the PF money, then withdraw from your PF account using Form 19 and Form 10C. Otherwise, transfer your PF account using Form 13 to your current employer.

Think of the future benefits that PF can provide you.

Hi! I resigned from my company in February 2007. I have not submitted my PF forms and I want to withdraw my PF. I have my PF Account number with me, but my company is based in Kolkata, and I was working for the Mumbai branch. They were depositing PF in the West Bengal PF office.

Please suggest some solutions for this.

Please email me at archu_ar@rediffmail.com.

Hi Harish,

You can withdraw your P.F. accumulation with your previous employer, but there are conditions:

01. If you have not joined any employer where the P.F. Act is not applicable within two months of leaving the old employer.
02. If the P.F. Act applies to your present employer, you have to transfer your previous P.F. accumulation to the present employer using Form 13.
03. Otherwise, you can withdraw by using Form 19 & 10C after two months from the previous employer by giving a declaration stating that you are not employed anywhere and intend to withdraw your P.F. accumulations.

Dear Vasanth,

I have a query regarding the same. In my previous company, I worked for 6 months. Now, I want to withdraw my PF amount, but my company is not ready to provide me with my PF account number. Can you advise me on what steps I can take to access my PF amount?

Hi,

Check your salary slip; it's mandatory for a company to mention the employee's PF number in that. Contact your previous employer and try to get your PF Number. If they are not giving you your PF number, then they may not have submitted or paid PF to the government. As a last resort, contact your local PF enforcement office; they should be able to help you.

Hello,

I have recently resigned from my current organization and am joining a new one. I have my PF account number with me as well. When I asked our HR for the PF withdrawal, I was told that I would need to fill out the forms (possibly form 19 and 10c). Then the company would send the form for processing after 2 months of filling it out, and the money would be credited within 3-6 months.

Is the process really that lengthy? What will happen if I use the same PF account number in my new organization and also fill out the withdrawal form in my current company? Will the money be credited up to my last working day in the current company or until the last day of processing?

Debadutta

Hi,

I worked for a company in Kochi for a little over 5 months and then resigned in Feb 2007. Now I want to make a withdrawal of the PF amount. I saw somewhere in this community that if we have worked for less than 6 months in the company, then the PF amount cannot be withdrawn, and that it can only be transferred to the new company PF account.

My question is:

1. I am not planning to work in the near future, so how do I withdraw the amount if the 6 months condition is true.
2. Can someone please send me a sample form 19 and 10C filled to my email id jojan7@gmail.com
3. Are we required to sign across the revenue stamp that is pasted in the form or sign below it?

Please help and send me a reply soon as I am planning to relocate from this city.

Thanks,
Jyotsna

I worked for 2 years in a company, and while moving to another company, I chose to withdraw the PF amount. A certain amount of tax was deducted (equal to the tax exemption I had earlier received due to the PF in the past 2 years), and the remaining amount was paid to my bank account. Do I need to show this sum as part of the total income when filing my returns?

Dear Friend,

Regarding your query on PF Withdrawal, withdrawal is permitted under the following conditions:

1. Resigned from service.
2. Reaching the age of superannuation.
3. Death or Permanent Total Disablement.
4. Retired from service.
5. A female employee does not continue in the job after marriage.
6. Settled abroad.

You have to submit FORM 19 & 10C along with Form 3A, Form 5 & 10, along with particulars of NCP Days/Break of Service if any during the course of employment to the EPFO Regional or Sub Office of your area concerned after 60 days to process the onward transmission of your application for withdrawal of your accumulations from the PF Department. The 60-day period is mandatory, and the employee must declare that they have not joined any organization within 60 days where the scheme applies. After the submission of the application i.e. Form 19 & 10C, the department will credit the amount directly to your Savings Bank Account as mentioned in the form within 30 days.

I also want to bring an important point to your attention that if an employee completes less than 6 months of service, they cannot withdraw the amount in the pension fund, subject to a maximum of Rs. 541/- under the provisions of the act. In such a case, you can request the members to withdraw the employee's part i.e. 15.67% at any time based on the mentioned provisions and transfer the remaining amount i.e. 8.33% (Pension Fund) to their present account by submitting Form 13 (R).

This is for your information.
