We are registered under the AP Shops & Establishment Act. My query is whether we are liable to pay service compensation under that Act if an employee has put in only one year of service, or as per the Gratuity Act which stipulates five years of service. Recently in Andhra Pradesh, it has become compulsory to take group gratuity insurance under the Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972, and we have been issued a notice under that act.
