I too need an answer to this question because I have also completed an MBA in HR, and this question was asked in the interview panel. I provided my response, but they indicated it was not the exact answer they were seeking. I tried to address this question in various ways, yet they insisted that none of my responses were satisfactory. Therefore, seniors in the HR field, please guide us on how to succeed in the organization. Please advise us on how we should approach answering this question.

Hi Damaya and Narmadha, me too joined in March 2011. The same question was asked to me, and I replied that I have chosen HR as my career because I have an interest in managing and organizing various events, and I like interacting with new people.

If they ask why you have chosen HR as your career, then you should answer in this way: explain how your personality is suitable for HR, mention your interest in HR concepts, and don't forget to relate your answer to your present job. I believe this advice will be useful to you.
